The Vermont Lake Monsters beat the Houston BC, 10-5, at Monster Field. The Lake Monsters got a fine performance from third baseman Zelmar Barajas, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4 for 6 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Santiago López got the win, improving to 2-0. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Vermont, at 5-1, is off to a blistering start.
