|
Steve Costillo added some punch to the Tortolita offense, helping them outmuscle the Port Royal Disaster, 16-7. In the game, Costillo, who was drafted in the three round of the 2025 draft, was 3-5 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while scoring 4 times and driving in 5. Francisco Burgos picked up the win with 6.2 innings of work. He allowed 7 earned runs on 9 hits, while walking 6 and striking out 2. On the season, he is now 1-0. Tortolita improves to 3-2 as they look to defend their championship.
Miguel Canales helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run single to give Tortolita a 2-0 lead.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Arturo Chávez said.
