Longnecks Prevail, 2-1, Over Scranton
|
The Bloomington Longnecks got a strong performance from pitcher Atila Freska, who stymied the Scranton offense en route to a 2-1 win at Lookouts Ballpark. Freska, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 1 walk. Earning his 2nd save for Bloomington was Keith Rojas.
It could have been a different outcome for Bloomington, had it not been for Gabrio Campoverde, the 24-year old center fielder . Campoverde contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning to put Bloomington up, 2-1.
"I was a little disappointed," said Scranton manager Henry Henderson. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
With their winning streak at 4, the Longnecks have raced to a strong start this season.
