Longnecks Hang 4-1 Loss on Halberds
|
The Bloomington Longnecks took Alloway pitcher António Marés's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Lookouts Ballpark. The final score had Bloomington getting past the Halberds, 4-1. Marés went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run, striking out 7. Bob Mullinax earned the win for Bloomington. He lasted 5.2 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 5 hits, while striking out 2. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. The save went to Keith Rojas, his 1st this season.
Early in the game, shortstop Billy Dotson had a 2-run home run for Bloomington. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Longnecks on top, 2-0.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Alloway manager Santiago Vargas.
With the loss, Alloway is 1-2.
