Dogfish Head Stymie Phoenix, Take 7-1 Win
|
The Milton Dogfish Head defeated the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, 7-1, in USPL Triple A action at Milton Corner Tavern, with Milton pitcher Francisco Barrios named player of the game. The winning pitcher was Barrios, now 1-0. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 9. The Dogfish Head, now 1-3, have not found much traction so far in 2030.
Early in the game, first baseman Rich Flannery had a 3-run home run for Milton. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Dogfish Head on top, 3-1.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Barrios.
