In a tight contest at Constellation Ballpark, the Naperville Battlekings edged the Pawnee ParksNRec by the score of 7-6. Naperville catcher Edward Payne, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. The Battlekings have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 1st win in 3 games.

Payne had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the tenth. On a 0-1 fastball from Jesús Salazar, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Battlekings a 7-6 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Payne.

"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Pawnee manager Rusty Bennett.
