Donlan Goes Wild, But BC Win
Irving catcher Scott Donlan was sensational. He went 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 6 runs and scored once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. San Antonio beat the Blue Sox, 9-8. Donlan was named the player of the game despite the loss. San Antonio reliever Nathan Bolton picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Rich McLean absorbed the loss. Mark Goldwire earned the save, his 7th, for the BC.

This game was not decided until late. With one out in the top of the ninth, Chet Mathis drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The BC took the lead, 9-8.

In postgame comments to the San Antonio Daily, Mathis said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

With the win, San Antonio has a record of 30-69. Irving falls to 57-42.
