Blue Sox Win at Springfield, 7-4
|
Benefiting from Bartolo Soto's productive game, the Irving Blue Sox downed the Springfield Shooters, 7-4. Soto was 3-4 with 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Blue Sox. Joel Farrell got the win, improving to 10-7. He held the Shooters to 4 earned runs on 6 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Rich McLean earned his 21st save in 28 chances.
Soto had an important at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the eighth, when he hit a sacrifice fly. The Blue Sox went on to win.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Soto.
