Big Day for Vázquez as Sixshooters Down Seawolves, 7-2
|
The Westwood Sixshooters beat the Long Island Seawolves, 7-2, at Sixshooters Stadium. The win was largely due to the efforts of second baseman José Vázquez, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4-4 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The winner was Masaharu Sakata, who threw 117 pitches over 7.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 5 hits. The Sixshooters improved to 32-56.
Vázquez had an important at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the first, when he hit a 2-run single. The Sixshooters went on to win.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Vázquez.
