Atlantic City and Durham met at Rapiers Ballpark in front of a lively crowd.
Benefiting from Alejandro Sánchez's productive game, the Atlantic City Sonics downed the Durham Rapiers, 10-3. Sánchez went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Sonics. Ramón Ocegueda got credit for the win, improving to 6-3. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 6.1 innings.
Also making an impact was first baseman Eddie Sachs, who drilled a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning for the Sonics. For the game, Sachs went 2-4 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 times.
"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Atlantic City manager Wes Murray.
The win puts the Sonics at 56-30, while the Rapiers drop to 45-41.
