Victory Pushes Rapiers Record to 33-33
|
The Durham Rapiers got a strong performance from pitcher Steve Seabolt, who stymied the Atlantic City offense en route to a 3-2 win at Sonics Ballpark. In 6 innings, Seabolt surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. John Hartley converted his 2nd save in 6 tries.
Tomás Costello, who is tied for 5th in the SAA in hits with 86, aided the Durham cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 4.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Costello said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
The Rapiers bumped their record to 33-33 with this latest triumph.
