Divided Knock Off Hotspur, 5-1
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Bill Oulton never let the Hotspur get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his forkball, to pitch the Divided to a 5-1 win. Oulton, now 6-2, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 1 earned run.
In the top of the sixth inning, first baseman Obidiah Lewis came through big-time for the Divided. With D.C. leading 2-0, he belted a 3-run home run.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said D.C. manager Jonathan Gerth.
D.C. is now 22-23, Phoenix 20-25.
