Heard Delivers Walk-Off Win for Piranhas
|
The Panama City Piranhas wiggled past the Boston Patriots, 3-2, at The Tank. Panama City pitcher Robinson Suárez earned player of the game honors. Panama City reliever Tobías Pérez picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Folkert van Huizen was saddled with the loss. Panama City is now 31-14, 3 games up in the Premier League.
Panama City won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With two outs and Folkert van Huizen on the mound for Boston, left fielder Peter Heard hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Piranhas fans to their feet.
"I was a little disappointed," said Boston manager Tyler Carter. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
