BC Lose Again, 9-0, to Shooters
|
The Springfield Shooters and starting pitcher Tony DeWitt stifled the San Antonio offense en route to a comfortable 9-0 win at Springfield Stadium. DeWitt, now 2-3, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing no earned runs. The BC, now 16-39, have lost 9 straight.
Early in the game, third baseman Fletcher Megarity had a 2-run single for Springfield. It was his 41st hit of the season and put the Shooters on top, 2-0.
"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said DeWitt.
