The Irving Blue Sox beat the San Antonio BC, 5-2, at Blue Sox Ballpark. The win was largely due to the efforts of first baseman Myron Rosenbalm, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 2 with a double and 2 walks. The winner was John Vaillancourt in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Derek Holbrook took the loss. Rich McLean earned the save for Irving, his 7th of the year.

Bartolo Soto had a clutch at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the seventh for the Blue Sox. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Irving trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run double.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Rosenbalm said.

The slumping BC have lost 7 straight.
