Late Rally by Patriots Secures Win
|
The Richardson City Thundercats got a superb performance from pitcher Juan Valéncia, but the Boston Patriots still won the game, 4-3. Valéncia was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball. Folkert van Huizen picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-2. Mike Farrell was tagged with the loss. At 19-22, Boston is in 6th place in the Premier League.
Timmy Appeldoorn was the walk-off hero for Boston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Patriots pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"It feels good to get that win," said Appeldoorn. "Now it's on to the next one."
