Golden Cranes Bridle Men, 4-2
|
Florida got a terrific game from catcher Henry Lambright. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Santa Barbara, 4-2. Lambright was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. Ma Hon Keung, who went 5.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 8 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 6. His record now stands at 1-1. Seung-yeop Kim earned the save for Santa Barbara, his 15th of the year.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and two out in the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when second baseman Armando Villarreal reached on an error by the center fielder, driving in 1 run. The Golden Cranes went on to win.
"Enjoyed this one," Villarreal told the Santa Barbara Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The Golden Cranes saw their win-loss record go to 50-39. At the same time, the Men fell to 37-52.
