Great Lakers Roll to 9-2 Win Over Humpbacks
|
The Pure Michigan Great Lakers dealt the Alaskan Humpbacks a 9-2 loss at Lansing Park. Josh Platt was the star on offense. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Markus Visser was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 1 run on 7 hits, with no walks and 8 strikeouts. Rubén Rodríguez, credited with the save, is now 1 for 2 in save opportunities.
Kenneth Noid had a big run-scoring single for the Great Lakers in the bottom of the second inning. With Pure Michigan leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a slider from Theodore Urban and stroked the single to left-center. It was his 8th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Great Lakers ahead, 3-1.
"I really like what we did out there today," Platt said after the game.
