Dodos Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Men
|
The Hialeah Dodos took Florida pitcher Juan Reyes's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Dodos Ballpark. The final score had Hialeah getting past the Men, 5-3. Reyes went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 2. Olegário Pa earned the save, his 19th. Hialeah occupies second place in the Menard's AAA at 46-28.
Had Kendrick Sullivan not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Sullivan hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Dodos.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Sullivan said.
