Coyotes Walk It Off for 13th Win of Season
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Hamilton Coyotes eventually prevailed at Coyote Wildlife Refuge.
The Pure Michigan Great Lakers got a superb performance from catcher Mike Taylor. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Hamilton. The Coyotes won the game, 6-5. In spite of the loss, Taylor was named the player of the game. He went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Hamilton reliever Errol Lange picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. José López was saddled with the loss.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Hamilton trailing 5-4, Ruben Yim hit a changeup from José López to right for a 2-run home run. Just like that, the Coyotes had a walk-off win.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Yim.
Hamilton occupies last place in the Menard's AAA at 13-34.
