Weber Rips Brinkley for 5 Hits
|
Clarence Weber put on a hitting clinic today as the Hialeah Dodos dumped the Brinkley Belugas 12-4 at Dodos Ballpark.
The Hialeah second baseman made Brinkley defenders earn their pay, lashing Brinkley pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Weber said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Clarence Weber singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 8th.
Weber is hitting .326 so far this season with 23 RBIs and 24 runs scored. He has 45 hits including 5 home runs, 5 walks and .347 OBP.
