Big Day at the Plate for Witt Not Enough for Grey Wolves
Northern Virginia and Vancouver duked it out at Wolf Den in Vancouver and the Rainbow Mermaids came out victorious.

Vancouver first baseman Preston Witt had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Witt went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice, even as Northern Virginia beat the Grey Wolves, 12-10. Witt was named the player of the game despite the loss. The win was Prince Nakamura's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Ray Skipworth took the loss for Vancouver. David Hudson earned the save for Northern Virginia, his 1st.

Ty Tomblin didn't waste any time giving his team the lead. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run double to put Northern Virginia on top, 2-0.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Tomblin.

The win pushes Northern Virginia to a record of 1-2.
