Dodos Hang 6-3 Loss on Belugas

The Hialeah Dodos picked up a win at Belugas Ballpark, knocking off the Brinkley Belugas, 6-3. Starting pitcher Sam Groves, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Hank Downey got credit for the save for Hialeah. It was his 1st of the year. The win brings the Dodos to 9-7, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
The Dodos got a big at-bat from first baseman Atílio Mansilhas. For the game, Mansilhas went 1 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Hialeah a 5-3 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Hialeah manager Raúl Méndez.
