Fog Get Close Win Over Belugas
|
Sunset District Fog starter Larry Strozier turned in a sterling performance against the Brinkley Belugas, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Sunset District reliever Dave Morse picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. António Rúbio shouldered the loss. Losses have been rare for the Belugas, who are now 11-3.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the third inning. Facing Brinkley hurler Carlos Peret, José Vargas drew a walk. The Fog went on to win.
"Both teams played hard," said Sunset District manager Rudy Hankins.
