Avino hits 2 home runs, Piranhas Move to 17-11
|
Fans who gathered at The Tank saw a good contest between the Panama City Piranhas and Chicago Gold Sox.
The Panama City Piranhas grabbed a 6-4 win over the Chicago Gold Sox at The Tank. Panama City first baseman Baldomero Avino went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice to earn player of the game honors. Panama City reliever Edgardo Nava picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-1. Tom McKee was collared with the loss.
Panama City took a 6-4 lead on Avino's 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Tom McKee in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Panama City to the win.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Avino said.
Panama City, at 17-11, occupies second place in the Premier League.
