Tight Tilt Goes to Great Lakers, 3-2
|
Pure Michigan starter Jimmy O'Flahavan pitched effectively against the Sunset District Fog at Lansing Park. The right-hander led his team to a 3-2 win. O'Flahavan, the winner, moves to 2-1. He threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. The Great Lakers, now 8-4, have been playing some good baseball.
The Great Lakers got a big at-bat from third baseman Zong-yuan Fung. For the game, Fung went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. In the bottom of the eighth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 9th hit of the season gave Pure Michigan a 3-2 lead.
O'Flahavan said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
