The exploits of third baseman Christian Turner helped the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes defeat the Pure Michigan Great Lakers, 5-2. Turner was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Henri Pollini picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Kazu Shimada was tagged with the loss. Seung-yeop Kim picked up the save, his 2nd.
Turner had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the second inning, when he hit a 2-run double. The Golden Cranes went on to win.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Turner told the Santa Barbara Observer.
The Golden Cranes, now 3-6, have not found much traction so far in 2030.
