Bowties Lose to Legion, 2-1

Both teams had their chances, but the Kingston Township Legion eventually prevailed at Cloverdale Legion Park.
Kingston Township Legion starter Noburo Oishi was in fine form against the Buckhead Bowties at Cloverdale Legion Park, leading his team to a 2-1 win. The win was credited to Bruce Hamilton in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Tomás Vargas took the loss. The save was John Riggleman's, his 3rd.
Had José Icaza not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Icaza hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Legion.
In postgame comments to the Kingston Township Daily, Oishi said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The Bowties, now 5-9, continue their sluggish start.
