Voodoo Topple 84s with Late Rally

Greenville got a terrific performance from pitcher Eric Matson, but it wasn't enough to beat the New Orleans Voodoo. New Orleans won the 84s Field contest, 5-3. Matson was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. The win gives New Orleans a record of 6-5.
Had António Pérez not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Pérez hit a 2-run double. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Voodoo.
"This was a good win," said Pérez.
