Dominant Performance by Herrera in Las Vegas Win
|
Fans of the Las Vegas Flamingos who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Las Vegas win over the visiting Oakland Oaks, 3-0. Cris Herrera started for the home team against Panda Montana. Cris Herrera earned the coveted player of the game honors. John Brown closed the game out for Las Vegas, earning his 1st save.
Herrera was in the zone all game. He frustrated Oakland hitters while giving the Flamingos 8 innings of quality work. Herrera threw 104 pitches, allowing 3 hits and getting 9 punchouts.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Herrera said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
