The Grafton Middies defeated the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 4-3, in United States Silver League action at Field of the Middies, with Grafton pitcher Luis Torres named player of the game. Grafton reliever Kenete Daku was credited with the win, to go to 6-5. Dino Moonglampers took the loss for Thunder Bay. The Middies' win now puts them at 53-55.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 13th inning, when Grafton right fielder Ramón Gómez, facing Norberto Quintana, had a run-scoring triple. It gave the Middies the 4-3 win.
In postgame comments, Torres said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
