Highlanders Venture Gone for Year
Wednesday, August 29th, 2029
The season is finished for Elend Venture of the Asheville Highlanders. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Highlanders starting pitcher suffered a torn rotator cuff while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles. Team doctors said it would take at least 10 months to heal.

So far this year Venture has made 12 starts, tossed 62.2 innings, struck out 38 batters and walked 25. His record is 2-4 with a 4.31 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .307 batting average.
