Parkinson Wins PAA Player of the Week Prize

25-year-old Dan Parkinson made a few Asheville headlines during this past week as the rookie right fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and USPL Double A officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort.

He cracked 9 hits in 15 at-bats to put up a .600 average. Parkinson collected no home runs, 2 RBIs and scored 2 runs.

This season Parkinson is swinging the bat at a .310 pace. He has hit 5 home runs and scored 22 times, while driving in 25. His on-base percentage is .363 and he has played in 45 games.
