Merendino and Colón Brawl, League Suspends Them Saturday, July 21st, 2029 After an intense confrontation, both the Athletic Club KC Academy Gerald Merendino and the Sixshooters Raúl Colón were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Athletic Club KC Academy-Westwood game. Both players will miss 10 games as a result of their actions. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Gerald Merendino commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Merendino is hitting .296 this year with 7 home runs and 27 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .365, 23 walks and scored 22 times. To date this year Colón has won 3 and lost 2 with a 5.06 ERA, 1 save and 19 strikeouts in 16 relief appearances. |
