Ieyoshi Asai Out for Season Monday, July 16th, 2029 A blow for Ieyoshi Asai today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss 9 months with a stretched elbow ligament. Asai suffered the injury throwing a pitch. Although officials from the Springfield Shooters are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Asai's ability to return fully fit with an injury of this nature. So far this year Asai has made 9 starts, tossed 54.2 innings, struck out 33 batters and walked 25. His record is 2-3 with a 4.28 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .236 batting average. |
