Yates Rips Athletic Club KC for 5 Hits Friday, August 24th, 2029 Halberds catcher Jerry Yates had his way with Athletic Club KC pitching today at KC Reserve Stadium and mauled them for 5 hits in 7 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Reserves ruined his great day by toppling the Halberds, 8-6. "I had a great day, but you've got to give Athletic Club KC credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits." "Oh, we noticed what Yates did today," Reserves skipper Henry Russell said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him." Jerry Yates hit a solo-shot off Rafael Valadez in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, grounded out in the 8th, hit a solo-shot off Alfonso Álvarez in the 10th, doubled in the 11th and singled in the 14th.
