Red-Hot Velázquez Scorches BC Saturday, July 14th, 2029 Jorge Velázquez really sizzled at the plate in today's 14-1 win over BC. The Bakersfield first baseman blistered Houston for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. "Velázquez was too tough to get out today," the BC skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Jorge Velázquez singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Ramón Ortega in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
