River Rats, Wasmund Blank Hammond Thursday, August 9th, 2029 Marvin Wasmund of the Columbia River Rats spun his magic on the Hammond Herons today. He blanked them 10-0 on 6 hits, registering 6 strikeouts and no walks. "The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Wasmund said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down." Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Columbia skipper Wes Murray said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations." "Marvin pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said. So far this year Wasmund has made 6 starts, tossed 52.1 innings, struck out 45 batters and walked 11.
