Plainsmen Ponce de Leon Suspended
Saturday, July 28th, 2029
Gerardo Ponce de Leon was incensed today after he was suspended by the commissioner's office for 2 games following a wild argument at the Nebraska-Niagara Falls game. The league cited the Plainsmen shortstop for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct," in the notification letter. Ponce de Leon strongly objected to a questionable call by the home plate umpire and was ejected.

"Ejection? Maybe. But not suspension. It's ludicrous is what it is. It's totally uncalled for. I have no idea why. You have to ask the people in the league office that wear the coats and ties and don't get on the field. I didn't cause the altercation, the umpire did. It was a lousy call."

Ponce de Leon is hitting .285 this year with 2 home runs and 33 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .312, 11 walks and scored 28 times.
