Jaeckel Rips Niagara Falls for 5 Hits
Thursday, July 26th, 2029
Cody Jaeckel put on a hitting clinic today as the Walla Walla Walleye dumped the Niagara Falls Expos 8-4 at Waterfall Park.
The Walla Walla center fielder made Niagara Falls defenders earn their pay, lashing Niagara Falls pitching for 5 hits in 7 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Jaeckel said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Cody Jaeckel flied out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit a three-run double in the 7th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 11th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Mannus Dijkman in the 12th.
Jaeckel is hitting .263 this year with 1 home run and 16 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .356, 16 walks and scored 16 times.
