Plainsmen, Fernández Blank Walleye Friday, June 15th, 2029 Jesús Fernández of the Nebraska Plainsmen spun his magic on the Walla Walla Walleye today. He blanked them 9-0 on 6 hits, registering 10 strikeouts and 1 walk. "The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Fernández said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down." Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Nebraska skipper John Hill said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations." "Jesús pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said. So far this year Fernández has made 10 starts, tossed 63.1 innings, struck out 59 batters and walked 23.
