Torch Chill Manshert's Hot Streak Saturday, August 11th, 2029 It was the best of both worlds for the Mancelona Torch today at York Park as they defeated the York Revolution 2-1 and also snapped Reinaart Manshert's 29-game hitting streak. The 20-year-old York right fielder failed to get a hit in 2 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Manshert, we just wanted to win the game," said Torch skipper Brian Atkins. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Manshert frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." Manshert is hitting .300 so far this season with 30 RBIs and 42 runs scored. He has 88 hits including 7 home runs, 25 walks and .369 OBP. |
