The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Richland Rails at Mercer Island Grounds by a score of 5-2. Screaming Eagles right-hander Victor Lustig was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Screaming Eagles a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 PL AA Championship.

The Screaming Eagles had to work out of trouble in the top of the eighth. The score was 5-2, Mercer Island, with one out. Richland, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Jorge Colón dug in at the plate, but on a 0-1 fastball, he hit into a double play.

Game 3 is set to be played Tuesday, September 25th, 2029 at Rails Ballpark. The scheduled starters for the game are Sy-ing Tah for the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles and Barney Starr for the the Richland Rails.
