Road Win Lifts Tortolita to 3-2 Lead in R1
The Tortolita Drummers moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Calgary Lynx on the road at Lynx Stadium by a score of 7-4. Drummers right-hander Darius Baxa was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Drummers a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-5 SL AAA Championship.

Had Yoshihito Saikawa not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Saikawa hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Drummers.

"It feels good to get that win," said Saikawa. "Now it's on to the next one."
