Yamamoto, Lynx Sink Drummers Again in Game 2
|
The Calgary Lynx moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Tortolita Drummers at Lynx Stadium by a score of 10-3. Lynx catcher Ieyoshi Yamamoto was named player of the game after he went 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 times. The win gives the Lynx a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 SL AAA Championship.
Calgary took the lead with one out in the bottom of the first when Jesús Martínez stroked a 3-run home run. That made the score 3-0 in favor of Calgary. For the day, Martínez went 1-5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Martínez.
Game 3 is set to be played Monday, September 24th, 2029. The scheduled starters for the game are Ramón Martínez for the Calgary Lynx and Robbie Betchley for the the Tortolita Drummers.
