Tritons Hammered by Yurtseven, Drop Game 4 to Nobles
|
The Bakersfield Nobles and the Jersey City Tritons will take the PL AAA Championship to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation today, the Nobles beat the Tritons 5-1 at Jerome Grounds to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Bakersfield designated hitter Omer Yurtseven was named player of the game in the win after he was 2-3 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.
Francisco Agámez aided the Bakersfield cause with a 2-run triple in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the center fielder was 1-4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Yurtseven.
Game 5 is set to be played Thursday at Jersey City Grounds. The scheduled starters for the game are José Sánchez for the Bakersfield Nobles and António Alomar for the the Jersey City Tritons.
