Longnecks Win, Move to Within 1 Game of Round 2
|
The Bloomington Longnecks moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Hialeah Dodos on the road at Dodos Ballpark by a score of 3-1. Longnecks left-hander Bob Mullinax was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Longnecks a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-5 3L AAA Championship.
The Longnecks liked what they saw from Mullinax. The 21-year old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Dodos to no earned runs on 1 hit over 6 innings, and striking out 4.
"It was a good effort all around," said Mullinax.
