Scarborough Handcuffs 1787 BC, Reapers Seize 3-2 Advantage in R1
|
The Grim Reapers got an exceptional performance from starter Edward Scarborough, who silenced the Delaware offense en route to a 3-0 shutout win in Game 5 of the SL A Championship today. The 1787 BC could never get a bead on the right-handed Scarborough, who threw 8 innings of shutout ball to earn player of the game honors. The Reapers now hold a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-5 series.
Scarborough, a native of San Antonio, Texas, was dealing all game. He kept Delaware hitters off-balance, while giving the Reapers 8.1 quality innings. Scarborough threw 106 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 5.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Grim manager Dale Wolfe. "It's usually not just one thing."
