Longnecks Rally Past Dodos to Claim 1-0 Series Lead
The Bloomington Longnecks powered past the visiting Hialeah Dodos, 9-8, in the opener of the 3L AAA Championship at Lookouts Ballpark today. Bloomington third baseman Gabriel Díaz was 5-6 with 2 doubles and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3, to lead the charge. The Longnecks now lead the series 1-0.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Díaz hit a curveball from Ralph Haggerty for a run-scoring single. The Longnecks, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Díaz.

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Lookouts Ballpark. Slated to start are Miguel López for Hialeah and Gabriel Valenzuela for Bloomington.
