The Herons faced a stiff challenge from Chicago pitcher Jeff Enamorado, but persevered to claim a win at Ramblers Ballpark. The final score was 3-1. Enamorado went 8.2 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Hammond reliever Kelemeneke Balun was the winner. His record is now 2-3. Jeff Enamorado took the loss. Hammond has now won 3 in a row.
The most important at-bat for Hammond came in the top of the ninth inning, when second baseman John Wiser stroked a first pitch cutter to center for a run-scoring single, putting Hammond up, 1-0.
